Apple has expanded the availability of key health features for AirPods and Apple Watch, bringing them to more users around the world. In a post on X today, CEO Tim Cook highlighted the rollout in Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and other regions.
The expansion brings the Hearing Test feature to a host of new countries, including Argentina, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Palestinian Territories, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam. The Hearing Aid feature, intended for people with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, is now also available in Cyprus, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Palestinian Territories, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
Both are regulated health features that require governmental approval and are part of what Apple has described as a pioneering all-in-one hearing health experience. They require AirPods Pro 2 with the latest firmware, paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later, and are intended for users who are 18 years or older.
The sleep apnea notification feature, available on the Apple Watch Series 10 and later models, also saw a significant expansion. It has now rolled out to Argentina, Australia, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Ecuador, Heard and McDonald Islands, Honduras, Indonesia, Moldova, Norfolk Island, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
